Day 1: ADDIS ABABA Arrival at
Bole International Airport (Addis Ababa) where you will be met by
Ghion Travel and Tours representative and transferred to Hotel.
Dinner and overnight in Hotel.
Day 2: ENTOTO FOREST: Drive to
Entoto Park on the north fringe of Addis Ababa for bird watching in
the forest and the surrounding plains. Overnight stay will be in
your Hotel.
Day 3: GEFERSA DAM AREA: Drive
to Gefersa dam and watch the abundant water birds. Continue to Ambo.
On the way you will have ample opportunity to see different species
of birds. Overnight stay will be in your Hotel.
Day 4: WONCH AREA: Drive to
Wonchi Creator Lake to visit the avifauna environment and the
beautiful lake it self. Then drive to Addis Ababa for overnight in
your hotel.
Day 5: ANKOBER AREA: Drive to
north east of Addis Ababa to Ankober, where you would experience
magnificent scenic beauty and some endangered bird species like
Ankober Serine. Drive back to Addis Ababa to your hotel for
overnight stay.
Day 6: DEBRE ZEIT AREA: Drive to
Debre Zeit to the Rift Valley lakes and observe the abundant water
birds, some of them are migratory from Europe. Overnight stay will
be Langano in your Hotel.
Day 7: LANGANO AREA: Have a full
day visit of water birds at Lakes Langano, Shalla and Abyjata.
Overnight stay will be in your Hotel.
Day 8: WONDO GENET AREA: Drive to Wondo Genet area to observe
forest bird species. Lovely weather, hot spring and landscape and
view of coffee plantation will be additional experience for clients.
Overnight stay will be in your Hotel.
Day 9: AWASSA AREA: Drive to
Awassa. Before and after lunch birding of the abundant indigenous
and migrant aquatic birds in the surrounding of lake Awassa. Boat
trip is part of your stay in Awassa. Overnight stay will be in your
Hotel.
Day 10: YABELLO AREA: Drive to
Yabello where you would experience watching the bird species of the
juniper forest. You would also see the endangered endemic species
Prince Ruspoli's Turaco. Overnight stay will be in your Hotel.
Day 11: KONSO AREA: Drive to
Konso through Telltale road. This trip would give additional
opportunity to watch juniper forest and plain birds. Overnight stay
will be in your Hotel.
Day 12: ARBA MINCH AREA: Drive
to Arba Minch. In the after noon birding on the shore of lake Chamo
and Abaya. Overnight stay will be in your Hotel.
Day 13: ABRBA MINCH: Drive to
Netchsar National Park. This trip in the park with lunch box would
give you the chance to visit many different species of birds may be
including the Netchsar Nightjar, an endemic species identified only
in 19 91. Return to Arba Minch for over night in your hotel.
Day 14: ADDIS ABABA: Drive to
Addis Ababa with stops en route to see the bird life. Overnight in
your hotel.
Day 15: CITY TOUR AND DEPARTURE;
Sightseeing tour that includes Trinity Cathedral-a beautiful church
with a baroque style of European Architecture unique to both
Ethiopia and Africa, National Museum-the home of the famous complete
hominid fossil remain of Lucy dated 3.5 millions years back,
Ethnological Museum-presents different collections to have an
overview of the history, culture, tradition and religions of almost
all tribal groups in Ethiopia, St. George Cathedral and Museum-a
historical church with the traditional Ethiopian Orthodox Church
architecture founded by Emperor Menelik-II, Mount Entoto panoramic
view point at the highest pick in Addis with an altitude of 3200
meters, The Merkato: the biggest open air market in Africa. Evening
welfare dinner party with national music and dancing, and transfer
to Bole International Airport for your flight back home.
