This is one of religious ceremonies not to be missed in Ethiopia .At the eve of Meskel celebration there iwill be a big bone fire (Demera) the will be prepared on the centre of Addis (Meskel scuar).Thousendes of Ethiopian Christians with thir traditional dressing style will be gather at the meskel square hundreds of priests from different church of Addis will come with very colourful church dress and processional cross to perform their amusing chanting for the gathered people

Sept.25: ARRIVE AT THE ADDIS ABABA BOLE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN ADDIS ABABA. Upon arrival, a Ghion Travel & Tours agent will greet you and transport you to your hotel.
Sept 26: Addis Abeba’s Meskal Festival: Morning, After breakfast, you’ll tour Addis Abeba,Trinity Cathedral, a stunning church with baroque to Ethiopia and Africa. You’ll also visit the National Museum, which houses Lucy’s famous complete hominid fossils dating back 3.5 million years. You will attend the incredibly colorful Meskel Festival (the discovery of the genuine cross) on Meskel in the afternoon after lunch.
Sept 27: Transfer to the airport and fly to Bahir Dar. Following check-in at the hotel and lunch, visit the ancient monasteries of Ura-kidanmihret and Kibran Gabreal (women are not permitted in Kibran). Overnight at your hotel.
Sept 28: Drive 30 kilometers to the magnificent Blue Nile Falls, aka Tis Isat, or “water that smokes.” In the afternoon, visit Bahir Dar Market and Weyto Village, where local papyrus boats are made. Spend the night at your hotel.
Sept 29: BAHAR DAR-GONDAR: Drive to Gondar in the morning through magnificent scenery and rolling farmland. Gondar served as Ethiopia’s capital during the 17th century. Emperor Fasil’s pool, which is still used for the Timket (the Ethiopian Epiphany) festival held every January 19, as well as ancient castle buildings and palaces of various emperors built in the architectural style of the European middle ages, can all be found there. Sleep in your hotel.
In addition to its 2000-year-old Axumite long standing steles, which measure up to 33 meters high, the Bath and Palace of Queen Sheba, King Kaleb and other kings’ tombs, the archaeological museum, widely considered the best in Ethiopia, and the church of St. Mary of Tsion, home to the Ark of the Covenant original. According to legend, King Menelik I brought the original Ark from Israel, the son of the Queen of Sheba and King Solomon. You will spend the night at your hotel.
Oct 1: Axum-Yeha- Axum after break fast drive to Yeha to visit old temple built before the birth of Christ, and the surrounding area. In the afternoon drive back to Axum and over night at your Hotel.
Oct 2: AXUM-LALIBELA: Transfer to Airport and fly to Lalibella, famous for its rock hewn churches dating back 800 years, and transferred to the Hotel. The brilliant feats of engineering and architecture of rock hewn churches of Lalibella referred to as the “Eighth wonder of the world”. There are 11 rock -hewn churches in the Town of Lalibella which 3 of them are Monolithic (free standing completely detached from the ground), 7 of them are semi-monolithic and 1 church is cave church. And there are more cave, monolithic, semi-monolithic churches in the district of Lasta region. Overnight at your Hotel.
Oct 3: LALIBELA. In the morning half-day excursion by mule to Asheton Mariam to visit the Church that lie on the top of the mountain. The Church itself is similar in style to other rock churches, but the panoramic view of the surroundings is spectacular from the mountaintop. Return to the hotel for lunch. Afternoon spent visiting more of the rock churches in Lalibella town. Overnight at your Hotel.
Oct 4: LALIBELA-ADDIS ABABA: Transfer to the Airport and fly back to Addis and transferred to the hotel. The remaining time will be at leisure or more sightseeing tour of the town. Overnight at your Hotel
Oct 5: Departure Depending on your flight time you will have shopping and sight seeing of Addis which includes Ethnological Museum-presents different collections to have an overview of the history, culture, tradition and religions of almost all tribal groups in Ethiopia, St. George Cathedral and Museum-a historical church with the traditional Ethiopian Orthodox Church architecture founded by Emperor Menelik-II, Mount Entoto panoramic view point at the highest pick in Addis with an altitude of 3200 meters, which was the site for the first palace of Emperor Menelik-II, the founder of Addis Ababa. The Merkato:-which is the largest open-air market in Africa. Evening welfare dinner party with national music and dancing, and transfer to Bole International Airport for your flight back home.
